Dr Hakim was so impressive. The perfect balance of listening, being empathic, being highly impressive with his knowledge, thorough and detailed, a clear communicator, systematic in his approach, warm and sincere. I took notes and results from other consultants and he went went through everything in a detailed and systematic way. Since the appointment he has written to the other consultants and the information was the most accurate and detailed that I have experienced from a doctor before. I could not recommend him highly enough.

I found him to be warm, attentive, empathetic, not at all dismissive (as have been many consultants regarding my condition) and made me feel positive about getting better. I would highly recommend him!

So, I guess I should start by saying that Dr. Alan Hakim is great! I have been through many years of trying to get to the bottom of my problems that have manifested in many way's e.g. bowel problems, joint problems and heart rate issues. They where, up to my consultation with Dr. Hakim yesterday seen as problems unconected in physiological terms and always treated as isolated individual problems. A holistic view is what I needed. I had connected allot of the dots myself by the time we met (self education and an interest in studying anatomy academically). And I must say its such a shame that people cannot be put this mans direction sooner because it would have saved many year's of problem solving that could have been used on improving symptoms for me and the many other people out there suffering. ehlers-danlos syndrome is a condition that few physicians have a detailed knowledge of and this leads to many roads being explored that could have been explained far earlier in the diagnostic process. As I say, it is a shame that general practitioners and even many orthopedic surgeons and rheumatologists have little knowledge on this subject. Dr. Hakim was extremely empathetic and professional and answered all of my questions with, clearly, a vast degree of specific knowledge and also introduced me to a case specific tailored plan to improve my health. I feel a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders knowing I have 'the right guy on the job'. If you are reading this review and debating whether or not to see him in consultation I urge you to go for it.

This doctor was respectful and listened to my concerns without making me feel foolish. He reassured me regarding several issues which had been concerning me. He gave me practical help and has gone above and beyond what I expected of him ensuring that my family are provided with medical investigations which will hopefully result in us recieving appropriate treatments.

Dr Hakim is kind, caring and thoughtful. He puts one at ease and listens very carefully to all that one says. Nothing is too much trouble and he strives to secure answers to the most difficult problems.
